IsiBhaca is an indegenous language with every right to thrive and be saved from systemic extinction.
To Support Donate HereThe history of the Bhaca people is sparsely documented even the little documented misses a lot of critical facts and is distorted depending on who was writing and for which purposes.
To Support Donate HereEconomic resource mapping is crucial for the communities to understand what assets they already have in their communities in order to use innovative ideas for communal economic activity.
To Support Donate Here.We have a clear mission, that of building an efficient platform that will be the catalyst of the revival and emergence of the Bhaca nation as a recognised sovereign nation with its kingdom, historic record, cultural heritage and a claim to the right to design the future it deserves for its people.
Know moreHlangana Bhaca Organisation is a dedicated civil rights and heritage organization that passionately works towards the recognition and upliftment of the Bhaca people in South Africa. Our mission is to mobilize resources, advocate for cultural preservation, and promote economic advancement in all regions inhabited by the Bhaca community. At Hlangana Bhaca Organisation, we firmly believe in the power of unity and collaboration. By bringing together individuals, communities, and stakeholders, we aim to create a strong collective voice that advocates for the rights, language, and cultural heritage of the Bhaca people.
Bhaca is beautiful, we aim to revive instrinsical pride in all the descendants of the ancient Bhaca people, we aim to inspire them to claim their Bhacaness, wear their identity with pride and show their excellence. Bhaca language is central to the people's pride and we aim to implement long term high impact language infrastructure projects which will accentuate our language status to a formally recognised language spoken freely and taught in our schools. Our young people will be taught how to dream and excel in life using their own language with no apology.
The history of the Bhaca people is largely fragmented and not properly recorded as there does not seem to be sufficient literature giving a cohesive account of the origins and the sociocultural evolution underpinning the Bhaca identity. This history, as we know it, is passed down mainly in oral form. As a consequence, the history of the Bhaca people is unfortunately subject to interpretation, making it vulnerable to possible misguidance. We aim to pursue a cohesive historical record of our people by tracing both oral and written records that will help us produce an accurate narrative of our history, so we can establish a reliable repository with a consistent account of who we are as a people. .
Our people have two intrinsic assets that we aim to optimise for proper economic benficiation which are: Arable Land and their Culture and Heritage. Our regions are 100% rural so we need to focus on what is in abundance in these regions and establish programs that will empower our people to extract economic value out of these assets to empower the Bhaca community through sustainable economic growth and entrepreneurship.
Hlangana Bhaca Organisation, is driven by our core values of inclusivity, respect, integrity, and social justice. We believe in fostering an environment that celebrates diversity, embraces dialogue, and advocates for equal rights and opportunities for all individuals within the Bhaca community. Join us in our journey to uplift the Bhaca people, preserve their cultural heritage, and advocate for their rightful place in South Africa. Together, we can create positive and lasting change that will benefit not only the Bhaca community but also the broader society as a whole.
To develop our language, we need to ensure we inspire our people to learn to speak their language freely with passion, we need to make it something to be proud of and inspire the future generations about it.
In an ideal world, where authentic identities were not endangered, I would say Bhaca people should just be. Be themselves, be true, be amaBhaca in how they show up in the world. But I know better. We are a tribe threatened by marginality, non-recognition, and the notion of mega-tribes in Southern Africa. To guard against extinction, amaBhaca should be deliberate about their self-actualization. This includes actively speaking their language, so it does not fall into systemic disuse, rehashing their traditions to calibrate the cultural wealth that makes them unique, and self-defining with a bit more vigor, intention, and cohesion.
Hlangana Bhaca can improve the life of young people from the Bhaca nation by motivating for education access and carefully considered opportunities outside of their environment allowing them to dream and vision themselves as highly productive citizens as they assume adulthood through education.
To ensure that we preserve our language we need to speak it more, make it fashionable in that way all bhaca people will be interested kube hukulondolozeka kwalo ke ulwimi lungashabalali. Especially kuma social media we need people like comedians, writers, storytellers, actors etc basically we need content creators konke loko bakwenze ngesibhaca so that sibe out there.
It is so important for our language to survive so that our national pride can be easily passed from generation to generations through language. It is impossible to pass cultural purity through foreign language as that comes with all unnecessary contaminations.
